

Dorothy was born to Lee and Effie Crane on July 16, 1927 in High Springs, FL. She grew up in Houston, graduating from Milby High School in 1944. She worked for Tenneco, Inc. most of her adult life, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Tenneco Retirees Club, holding positions as president, director, and on various committees.
She was an avid reader, loved playing bridge and travelling the world with friends and family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 8 years, James M. Hill, Jr., and niece Jacqueline Johnson. She is survived by her sister Alywe Mauro, brother Thomas L. Crane and wife Sally, nieces Pat Johnston, Jo Ann Luke and husband Tommy, Lisa Crane, and Laura Crane. Dorothy held a special place in her heart for her godchild and great-niece Kirby Renee’ Crane.
Dorothy, and her family, were very blessed to have Charity Parchem as her loving caregiver and companion.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 19 in the Main Chapel at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Ave., Houston, Texas 77023. The family has requested a private internment.
