Dorothy Mary Hruska

Dorothy was born in Shiner, Tx to Martha (Schaefer-maiden name) Fajkus and Adolf Fajkus on October 29, 1925. She attended Catholic School in Hallettsville, Tx and upon graduating from High School, she moved to Houston to pursue further education in Business to secure a position as an auditor with Sears and Roebuck in Houston, Texas.

During her tenure with Sears and Roebuck, she met her one and only true love. On June 4th, 1949, she was married to William Emil Hruska at St. Theresa’s Church in Houston, Texas. On May 4th, 1959, she conceived her one and only daughter, June Carol Hruska.

Dorothy nurtured others with her love and faith. She was a profoundly devoted mother and wife, who was active with the church as well as the community. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and gathering with friends and family.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: June Hruska-Garrison and Michael Stephen Garrison of Sugar Land, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Adolf Fajkus and husband, William Emil Hruska.

Family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by Dorothy are invited to a Visitation(10:00-11:00) and Funeral Mass(11:00-12:00) at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 6723 Whitefriars Dr., Houston, Texas 77087.
