Aunt Dorothy: I saw more of you after I moved to New York than I did when I lived in Houston. The Patterson sisters were together and the Patterson brothers were together. It was later in life when all of you realized there the 4 needed to be together and you visited more often, gardening as well. After I started flying to Houston just before Dad died and afterwards to help Mom, sometimes as many as 4 times a year, Aunt Esther would bring me over for a visit, lunch sometimes as well. The 1990 visit was a little difficult, just after Myra had died, you two looked so much alike that you could have been twins at that time. 
I remember the hurricane that came through Houston when I was very young and every one was at our house, Aunt Dorothy, Aunt Ruth and Uncle Leland. Don't remember how many of the kids were born at that time, just know there were a lot of people there. The chinaberry tree and fence blew over, but we were safe inside, singing and laughing.
I know you will be missed by all that loved you, family and your work with HAM.  I know you are now in a safe and peacefull place, enjoy your visit with your family in heaven.

My dear Aunt Dorothy-I can't remember a day that you were not involved in my day to day activities. You and Mom have talked every day since I can remember. Mom's day wasn't complete unless she could speak to her sister every day at 1:00; of course this was the time after retirement; for at least an hour. Always thinking of me during all of life's events-you were always there and so appreciated. Your work at Ham and all your volunteer efforts made others so grateful for your hard work. 
You will be so missed. My parents and Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Ray playing 42 dominoes for hours and laughing until their sides hurt. Good family memories.
