Edgar Travis Shelton was born September 17, 1926 in Corsicana, Texas to William & Levada Shelton. He passed away on August 30, 2014 in Pasadena, Texas. Travis married the love of his life, Dorothy Lucille Mitchell on April 2, 1946 in Larkin St. Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. They were married for 42 years.
He worked and retired from Armco Steel after 36 years, was a devoted member of the American Legion Hall, an avid golfer and an accomplished dancer-both ballroom and western swing.
Travis is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother, Douglas Eugene & sister, Billie Jo. He is survived by: son, Travis & wife Debby; daughter, Pam Abrams & husband Glenn; grandchildren, Julie Hoke & Kyle Abrams; great-grandchildren, Dillon Hoke & Lauren Hoke; brother, Jerry Wayne & sister, Shirley Kaiser.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home from 5pm-7pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Funeral Service will begin at 10am on Thursday, September 4, 2014 followed by burial in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
