Born to Franz Ignatz Lewandowski and Anna Emma Marta Thürk, September 4,1923 in Wolgast, Germany. She had a great childhood growing up with a wonderful, loving family on the outskirts of Berlin, then came WWII, very difficult, tough times. When the Allied forces arrived, she met the Love of Her Life, Alva G “Tex-line” Allnutt. He was a U.S. Army Mess SGT serving in Germany. After the war, when Edith arrived in the USA, she was greeted with open arms and lots of love from the Allnutt family. She and Alva George were wed that very day, September 28, 1948. She studied to become an American Citizen, in May 1954 she achieved her goal, took the Oath of Allegiances, and was granted her United States Citizenship.
Edith and Alva George raised three wonderful children, Alva Lee, Mike and Debbie. In 1973, Alva George passed way. Edith, who had been a housewife all these years, didn’t sit back, she went to work at Battelstein’s Department Store as a seamstress, while studying record keeping and eventually landed a job with Mitchell Energy in the Woodlands, where she retired with ten years of service, December 1991.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Alva George Allnutt; Son, Alva Lee Allnutt and Brother-n-Law, Gus McIntosh. She is survived by Sister, Helga Lewandowski McIntosh, Son, Michael Allnutt, Daughter, Deborah Allnutt Boyd and husband Mike, Daughter in Love, Cynthia Driskill, numerous, loving Nieces, and Nephews. Grandchildren Monica Allnutt Termeulen, husband Erik, Al Kelley Allnutt, wife Bonnie, Amy Allnutt Benoit, husband Brian, Kevin Allnutt, wife Janae, Amanda Allnutt Speegle, Michael J Boyd, wife Chi and Eric Pryor, wife Dejean. She was blessed with many great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter as well as extended family, Darlett Lenker, Charline and Tom Taflinger, and Vickie Kelly.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., May 9, 2022 at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery with Sherman Johnson serving as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice in Memory of Edith.
