

Edward C. Mills born in Woodward, Oklahoma went to be with our Lord on September 5, 2010. He attended Palo Duro High School and was the winner of the first Amarillo News and Globe Times most valuable football player in 1955. He started his career in the freight business at Armstrong Transfer and Storage and continued to have a successful career in the business for over 40 years. He was married to Thelma Lee Benton Mills for 40 years until her death in 1996. Edward is survived by his current wife of 10 years, Mary B. Mills; 3 sons, Edward and wife Chrystal, Stan and Jennifer, and Robert Mills; step-son, Darren Butler and wife Lyndi; 8 grandchildren, Clinton, Chris, Macy, Mackenzie, Clayton, Zachary, and Carson Mills, Keirsten Butler; 1 great-granddaughter, Maylee Mills; parents, Ed Mills and wife Gene; and sister, Deloris Cariveau. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and a great friend to all those around him. He left his mark on the earth and will never be forgotten. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Earthman Resthaven. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, September 9, 2010 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven with interment to follow in the Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
