Edward Paul Sam was born in Beaumont, Texas to Edward and Stella Sam on February 19, 1947. Paul is the middle child of five siblings. Upon leaving high school, he entered the United States Navy, where he served for three years. After leaving the military, Paul went on to peruse many other things but the one he enjoyed most was cooking, especially baking. He was well known for his coconut pineapple cake. Paul has cooked and baked in several fine restaurants, ending his career as a chief cook and baker with Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.
Edward Paul was a loving and kind man, always readily willing to assist anyone needing help. That love has gone but the memory and effect of it shall live on in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and two brothers; Lee Herman and Gerald Edward, one sister; Dellia Ann. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Sharon (Shorty), two sisters; Aline Daw (Beaumont, TX), and Alma Parker (Houston, Texas), stepdaughter; Kim Banks (Houston, Texas), three nieces, Vanessa, Gail and Tausha (All of Beaumont, Texas), four nephews; Ulysses, Mister, Wesley Sam (All of Houston, Texas), Eugene Daw (Beaumont, Texas and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
