Edwin was married to the love of his life, Carol McGraw, for over 52 years. Their journey together began in 1973 when they were wed in old Shady Acres on Bevis Street. Together they built a life centered on love, faith, family, and laughter. Edwin’s devotion to Carol was unwavering; he loved her faithfully and joyfully throughout their marriage. He was a steadfast provider and a cornerstone of quiet strength for his family.
A devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church, he poured his heart into serving the Lord and his community. Whether passing out tracts, inviting visitors to church, or offering change to children from the coins always in his pocket, Edwin lived out his faith with humility and kindness. He cherished the book of Romans and found solace in his favorite hymn, *Nothing but the Blood*. He never got over his salvation and the blessings of his life. He is now eternally secure, in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Known affectionately as "Big Ed," Edwin had a warm personality that made it easy for him to form friendships. He never held grudges and remained unbothered by the drama that often-consumed others. He enjoyed catching up with friends over meals or phone calls but was most at peace in the comfort of his home surrounded by family.
Edwin is survived by his beloved wife Carol McGraw; children Ralph McGraw (and wife Cindy), Edwin McGraw (and wife Page), Anna Beth Long (and husband Anthony), James Atwood (and wife Beya), Michelle Sanders (and husband Dave), John Atwood, Matthew Atwood (and wife Barbara); and Vicky Chambers (and husband Shawn). He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews who will cherish their memories of him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph Ira McGraw and Olga (Sebesta) McGraw; sisters Iris Parise, Lillian McGraw, and Fannie Silva (and husband Daniel); and grandson Joshua McGraw.
