

Elder Jim Gamble was born on March 17, 1940 to Paul Nathaniel Gamble and Carrie Lee Gamble. He was born in Jefferson Davis Hospital here in Houston . Jim graduated from Middleton Senior High School in Tampa, Florida where he was a member of the marching band. He attended Florida A&M in Tallahassee. He later joined the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant in the Strategic Air Command. After serving in the military, Jim returned to his love of music and performed with artists such as: Ray Charles, James Brown, Big Momma Thornton, Bobby Womack and various others. He answered his call and became an ordained minister in 1985. He received his Doctor of Theology degree with Honors from Gospel Ministry Outreach Theological Institute in 1990. Jim is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Evangelist Ercelene Gamble. He also leaves behind six children: Jennifer Harris and husband Reuben, Toni Alexander, Pastor. Glenn E. Gamble II and wife Heather A. , Resha Cher-ann Gamble, Earl Tausha F. Watson and husband Mark, and Tabitha S. Miles and husband Jospha Pendleton. He is also survived by his beloved brother Henry Murray and sister -in-law Willie. Jim was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.
