

Funeral services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and service will be at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held in the chapel.
Eleanor was a member of First Baptist Church of Laurel, Mississippi. She attended there faithfully while living in Laurel with her second husband prior to his death. She had relocated back to Houston to be closer to her sons and their families after Mr. Butler’s death.
Eleanor was a member of the Cheerful Clown Alley of Houston where she did hundreds of volunteer events before moving to Laurel. Her love of clowning and entertaining others was passed on to her eldest son and niece.
Eleanor had a way of spreading love and cheer to everyone she met. She was full of life and shared her love of life and God with everyone in her path. She had many friends in Houston as well as Laurel.
Survivors include her two sons, Joel and Paul Rubert; grandchildren, Amanda Rubert Steves, Joseph Rubert, and Annelise Rubert; sisters, Ollie Faye (Hugo) Touchy of Katy, Texas and Jackie Hill of Soso, Mississippi.
She is preceded in death by her first husband who was a Baptist minister, Rev. Joe Rubert and later in life by her second husband, also a Baptist minister, Rev. John Allen Butler. She was also preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie Lee Ellzey along with 20 siblings.
