

Elena Banda Vega, 81, devout Roman Catholic, resided in Houston, Texas. Elena gracefully & peacefully entered into Eternity with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 25, 2021 at Methodist Hospital. Elena Banda was born to Jesus Vega and Margarita Salas, on May 22, 1940, in Leon, Guanajuato, MX. Being the oldest child, Elena helped her father in the fields, and helped raise livestock from a very early age. She also helped her mother with her younger siblings. Elena, was taught how to read and write by a parish priest in Matamoros, MX. Elena studied the Holy Bible as she practiced her reading and writing on her own. Her tenacious desire to succeed in her relationship with God, and His Church encouraged her self-studies. She met and married Manuel Banda Garcia in 1958 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, in Matamoros, MX, and they lived together in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. They gradually moved to Houston Texas. Together they raised ten children, and adopted 2 grandchildren. Elena and Manuel Banda shared a married life of 52 yrs.
She is survived by her beloved children whom she devoted her life and love to Manuel, Rodolfo, Rolando, Javier, Hugo, Alejandro Miguel, Juana Patricia Padilla-Banda, Sandra, Margarita, Veronica, Christy Jocelyn, and Maria Elena Banda. Grandchildren; Angelica , Rudy Jr.,Brandon, Mateo, Manuel Jr., Jeanette, Brittany, Alexandra, Alex Jr, Xavier, Troy, Patricia de Jesus Phillips, Eloy, Eli, Veronica, Karina , Giselle, Nahum JR., Jose Luis, Bianca , Fatima, Jose Jr., Joanna, Hugo Allen, David Roa, Victoria Roa. Great Grandchildren; Robert, Mathew, Ellie Mary, Lucia Phillips, Jordan, Jayden, Josielyn, Ava, Mia, Aiden, Payton, Julian Jose, Kaylee, Gracelyn, Ezra, Evan, Mario and Ariel. She also leaves to cherish her memory Jesus Vega (brother) ,Sara (sister), Carmelo (brother), Maria Martinez (sister),Guadalupe Flores(sister) Xiquio (brother) Elena has multiple nephews and nieces whom she loved.
She was preceded in death by beloved husband, Manuel Banda Garcia; Rodolfo Banda (son); Margarita Vega Salas (mother); Jesus Vega (father); Jose Vega (brother) Arnulfo Vega (brother).
Elena worked as an agriculture worker for Duda Company in Florida for many years. Elena Banda loved Our Lord Jesus Christ, and was always at the service of the Gospel through praise and worship, evangelization ministries, bible studies, and intercession for her family and friends. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, especially her family. Elena enjoyed flowers and silent time in Holy Adoration of our Eucharistic Lord Jesus Christ. Elena was also actively involved in Catholic Charismatic Renewal and devotion to the precious blood of Jesus.
Elena loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandkids. Her favorite pastime was visiting with them, sharing a meal, hearing their life's experience, and playing with her grandchildren. Thank you mother for your soul saving prayers for your children, for your sacrifice, devotion, most of all for your unwavering faith in God and for gifting God's love to all who crossed your path.
Elena’s mission is now perfectly complete according to God's will, the love story is to be continued in eternity for you Mom. Now Mother, though you are not physically here, we pray that you’re before the Holy Trinity and Blessed Virgin Mary, singing endless praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As your children we find strength, solace in God's faithfulness to you, MOM. WE LOVE YOU AMA!
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 5-9 PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Resurrection Catholic Church. Rev. Oscar Dubon will officiate the ceremony. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

The family would also like to thank Dr.’s Francisco Velasquez, Dr. Sdringola for taking such great care of Elena Banda’s health over 15 yrs. She was very grateful for your loving attention, and great medical care. Elena loved her doctors! Thank you to Houston Methodist Hospital for caring for Elena.
