Elida T. Garza

Elida Tovar Garza nació en Freer Texas el 22 de agosto de1937. Fue la menor de 5 hijos nacidos a Francisco Tovar y Felipa Santos. Sus hermanos Petra, Agustín, Hermelinda y Maria que ya están en la memoria de Jehová junto con Elida.

Le sobreviven sus hijos Manuel Garza Jr. Alma Ramirez, Lucresia Almaguer, Maria Martinez y José Garza. Así como 7 nietos y 6 bisnietos.

Elida supo enfrentarse a los desafíos de la vida con fe en Dios. Para la edad de 4 años sus padres ya habían fallecido. Paso su niñez con la familia hasta que contrajo matrimonio con su compañero de vida Manuel R Garza. Como muchos trabajadores inmigrantes paso años bajo los calores y el duro trabajo en las piscas en el Valle de Texas hasta California y donde quiera que estuviese el trabajo. Por su gran esmero de dar a su familia una vida sencilla y feliz, encontró un lugar en el área de Gulfgate, aquí en Houston, donde vio a sus hijos crecer por los últimos 66 años.

Era una mujer trabajadora, responsable, su afán siempre fue mantener unida a la familia… y ¿cómo una buena madre une a la familia? ...con una buena comida, que también amorosamente compartía con los hermanos, amigos y especialmente con vecinos ancianitos que los procuraba con amor al prójimo.

Vamos a extrañar su felicidad y sentido del humor que nos dio momentos muy felices en nuestras vidas.

“También se levanta cuando aún es de noche;

les da comida a los de su casa

y su ración a las sirvientas”. (Proverbios 31:11,15)

ELIDA T. GARZA – OBITUARY

Elida Tovar Garza was born in Freer, Texas on August 22, 1937. She was the youngest of 5 children born to Francisco Tovar and Felipa Santos. Her siblings Petra, Augustine, Hermelinda and Maria are already in Jehovah's memory along with Elida.

She is survived by her children Manuel Garza Jr., Alma Ramirez, Lucresia Almaguer, Maria Martinez and Jose Garza. As well as 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Elida knew how to face the challenges of life with faith in God. By the age of 4 her parents had already passed away. She spent her childhood with the family until she married her lifelong companion Manuel R. Garza. Like many immigrant workers, she spent years in the heat and hard work in the piscas, from the Texas Valley to California and wherever the work was. Because of her great dedication to giving her family a simple and happy life, she found a place in the Gulfgate area, here in Houston, where she watched her children grow up for the past 66 years.

She was a hardworking, responsible woman, her desire was always to keep the family together... And how does a good mother unite the family? ... with a good meal, which she also lovingly shared with the brothers, friends and especially with elderly neighbors who she felt were like her parents. We will miss her happiness and sense of humor that gave us very happy moments in our lives.

“She also rises while it is still night,

Providing food for her household

And portions for her female servants”. (Proverbs 31:11,15)
