Bettie was born in Norwich, CT. She was the daughter of Burrill Dudley Lathrop and Freda Elizabeth
Noyes Lathrop. She graduated from Norwich Academy in 1943, and from Bryant University in 1947.
She married on April 21, 1948 in Norwich, CT to Thomas Middleton Blake of Liberty, TX.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years; sons Thomas L. Blake, William R. Blake, Robert B. Blake,
and daughter Elizabeth Blake Salter; 6 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 1 step granddaughter;
3 great granddaughters, 5 great grandsons, and 2 step great granddaughters. She is also survived
by her brother Dudley Noyes Lathrop of Somers, CT; predeceased by 1 step brother, Linwood Lathrop.
Bettie was a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendents, and was an 11th generation American. She was of the Methodist faith. Besides the matriarch of the family, she was a dedicated wife, a committed mom, a good friend and absolutely adored her grand/great grand children and all of their activities.
