Mom, that was one of your favorite songs!  On Sunday, February 12, 2012, I sang it to you as I layed a beautiful bouquet of roses and a Happy Valentine Day balloon at your headstone on that cold,wet and windy day.  I couldn't stop the tears from flowing.  Did you hear me and see the flowers from far above?  Silly question huh?  Of course you did!  Charles is doing fine.  I know you worry about him.  I think he is finally coming around from his grief and sorrow from loosing you.  I sense he may finally be up to visiting you soon.  Haven't heard too much from Ricky, but know that he is always in my prayers.  You left me with a tall order to fill Mom...but I am fulfilling my promise to keep us all together in thoughts and prayers.  Rest now Mom...Rest in the Peace, Love, Mercy and Grace of Our Lord, Jesus Christ!      I'll never let my heart and memories ever forget the love we all shared together!

Dear Momo Jordy, You are in  heaven with Jesus now. You are a beautiful little angel. I remember, me and Celina would sing songs to you . You use to love to listen to Frank Sinatra. You liked christian songs to and you liked for us to sing , " Mary did you know".  I know you are in heaven now hugging Jesus and giving him kisses. I think about you a lot . I remember when you were in the hospital we use to call you and check on you. You use to give us kisses through the phone. God is with you now and he will keep you safe in his presence . I feel you in my heart and my soul.

My Beautiful Mother, Oh, how I miss you. As it is a year now since...my thoughts of you are so cherished. How I love you dearly and miss our talks . I have wonderful memories of you visiting us in Miami with the twins . I'm so grateful to God you came to be with them when they were born . You called them your " miracle babies", and they were Mom . I give God the glory for their health and love of them . You will be proud of them Mom . They love God, Praise God daily and seek him always. I tell Cameron and Celina , " do you know why I love you so much ?" and of course their answer is always, " because we're a gift from GOD ". And, I tell them, " YES you are . " A beautiful gift from God to Dayna and I.
Thank you for leaving them so many good & beautiful memories of your life with Dad, your childhood and your love of Jesus and how to live their young lives to be blessed by God. I am proud of them and you would be too Mom . I will miss our times on the road traveling. Remember we'd be in the Opelousas countryside just driving then crossing over to Breaux Bridge eating all the Creole food we could get our hands on ?
Good ole things we couldn't get in San Diego . We had so much fun laughing and 
eating and visiting relatives we hadn't seen in so long . Thank You for being MY mom. I couldn't have had better. God blessed all of us 10 little Indians with you Mom. HE chose YOU to be OUR mother, and each day I thank him dearly for you and Dad . I love you, I love you and love you always Mama .I pray I've given you enough Kisses & Hugs, enough to last until I see your beautiful face again . Rest in the arms of Jesus.

Dear Great Grandmother ( Momo ) It's me, Princess Celina who loves and misses you so much . I will never forget when I asked you what Princess were you and you said , " I was Snow White cause I had so many children to cook & clean like her ". We laughed together. I know you are with God right now and you are happy. That's what I want for you Momo, to be happy. I bet you are wearing a beautiful 50's dress with your hair long and silky. You are radiant with joy. And, one day I will see you again and that is my hope, that I will sing to you again . I love you Momo, & I will always carry your love in my heart in life and make you proud. I will always stay with God & obey his word like you asked me to. I won't forget Momo . Thank you for loving me, just as I love you. You are at peace now. You are resting in the arms of Jesus. People will pass from this life but their love never will. Please give Jesus my Love & ask him to give this family peace & reassurance that we will see you again. You will always be my Snow White. I love you till the end of time and forever .

Oh Momma, many nights since you left me, I have felt your presence along side of me.  Together we were in the kitchen cooking, reading a story with one of my grandchildren or putting a load of laundry on.  Before, I lay it down after a full day, I can close my eyes and share memories of us together.  I was about 5 years old, in Lafayette, La, you and I shared my first memory of having you all to myself.  I remember we walked downtown as we didn't have the bus fare to accomodate our mother and daughter journey.  You promised me that if I was good, you would buy me an ice cream cone on our walk back home.  I was so very excited!  When we walked into the dime store and walked to the lunch counter, immediately I sat on the counter stool twirling my self dizzy while waiting to be served.  I had imagine us eating our ice cream in the store, but you said we had to leave.  "Why Momma, why do we have to leave"?  "I want to eat my ice cream here!"  Without saying a word, you look my hand into yours and lead me out of the store into the hot blazing sunshine which quickly devowered my melting cone all the way down my fingers and onto my hand.  We finished our walk in silence with sticky hands.  Mom, as you did then, protect and keep me safely in your heart of love!

Those who live no more echo still with our thoughts and words; and what they did is a part of what we have become.
At the rising of the sun and as its going down, we remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of the winter, we remember them.
 At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring we remember them.
At the blueness of the sky and in the warmth of the summer, we remember them.
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn, we remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends, we remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.
When we are weary and in need of strenght, we remember them.
When we are lost and sick of heart, we remember them.
When we have joy and we crave to share, we remember them.
When we make have decisions that are difficult to make, we remember them.

P.S. I saw your smile this weekend. As I walked out of a store collecting things for my fishing trip. An older woman smiled at me. The exact same loving angelic smile you would greet me with. Her eyes and smile followed me for a while and I could feel you all around me. You must have known I was going fishing. I think you came with me ;) Thanks mum.

Good Morning Mum, went fishing this weekend. I caught so much fish. And I know fish is your favorite. Im sure you saw the smile in my heart as I enjoyed the last two days. Thought about you so much, and how much i wish I could bring you some red and drum fish. Love you so much momo..

Good Morning Mom, Today we sat and talked. Watched the sun rise through the large oak trees that surround your place. The heat hasnt quite peaked yet, but we could feel the Texas sunbeams slowly start to rise. As I entered your resting place I watched the leaves fall gently from the trees, as if they knew I was coming and gestered a welcome. It was gorgeous the way the sun reflected against the orange and red as they fall, making them shine like glitter. I said good morning to all your new friends. As we sat, I saw your smile all around me. And I heard your happiness. Its sunday, I knew you were eager to start the Lords day as you always are. You told me you were goin to church with mama and I asked you to hold her heart gently and give her peace. I enjoyed our short visit. I'll see you soon mom, and we'll have more to talk about. MoMo, Yesterday was my birthday.  I am now 5 years old.  We went to Chuckie Cheese with my family and cousins.  We ate pizza, played games and had cupcakes. I wish you were there with us.  I received your Happy Birthday Card and Angel pin.  MoMo Brenda told me that the Angels put it in her mail box for me.  I was so very happy to wear my Angel pin at my party.  MoMo Brenda said you and Granny Rhee is having a grand ole time in Heaven.  Thank you for thinking of me on my birthday and now I have your Angel to watch over me all the time. My little grandmother. I'll be seeing you in a few days. It'll be your 87th Birthday. I wish you could have had just one more. Or perhaps I wish I could have had one more with you. I Love the way your eyes vanished when you smiled at me. And how you would always remind what a special Cinderella I was to you. Making me fresh from scratch home-made biscuits and syrup. I Love the way you butchered the English language and we'd all have a laugh. I specially Love the way you always reminded me, “I Love you". 
I’m sad, but glad at the same time. The blissful eternity you're living now is my envy. Watching over all of us as you have always done. I miss you so much mama. I think of you always.

Across the years you have walked with us - in the good and bad, happy or sad you never left your family.  When our time on earth is through, in heaven, too, your will have our hands. Love u Momma.

Words will never be able to fully convey what is in our hearts. We are eternally grateful to everyone who extended the many prayers, comforting words of condolences, phone calls, visits, food, e-mails, cards, floral arrangements and support to our family during our time of grief.  A special "Thank You" is extended to Celebrant, Fr. John Ayang of St. Monica's Catholic Church for a lovely Catholic Service, Pastors Steve, Cyndi, and Chase Austin, along with the entire church family of Champions Community Church for their prayers, spiritual support, and hosting of Mom's repast dinner, and Vocalist, Cynthia Melanson. 

The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Lisa Chan, Kindred Hospital Staff, and Caregiver, Marvi Cisneros for making Elizabeth's final months peaceful and comfortable.  Thank you, Princess Walton and Cheron Janelle Batiste, for personally designing Mom's Homecoming Program.  We know that it was only out of love that you all were able to find the strength to make sure the world knew how much she meant to her family!

Charles, Carl, Brenda, Nancy, Ricky, Paul, Deborah, Jacqueline, Donna and Robert, along with Bernice, Ida, Oscar, Kenneth and Bobby grew up as a group of fifteen kids, who sometimes lived together in one home; or switched houses for convenience under the guidance of Grandma Jordan, my mom and dad and uncle and Beth.  Some of the younger siblings are not as familiar with our extended family as we older ones are; but we were at times one family.  We became so accustomed to hearing our mother referred to as “Aunt Tee,” we began to call her “Mama Tee.”  Even Mama’s brother, who generally referred to my mom as “Sis,” would upon occasion slip up and refer to her as “Tee.”  Beth would always call my mom, “Tee.”  I write this to call attention to the close relationship our two families share.
  
Beth, as the children in our family refer to our aunt, Elizabeth Mouton Jordan, is the kindest person I’ve ever known.  She was sweet to a fault and spent her life enmeshed in the welfare and love of her children.  Always soft spoken, fragile and accommodating she was the living embodiment of motherhood.  No sacrifice was too big or too little for her children.  Although her life was extremely difficult at times, she withstood the pain of adversity and came through a stronger and better person.  I liked Beth for who she was, and I love her for the kindness she’s given me, my husband, and my children.

Although I’m not so little or young anymore, I still consider myself Beth’s “little girl,” and I’ll always love her.
