

Betty was born to Turner Butch Nelson and Elizabeth Skipworth, November 17, 1944, in Jackson, Mississippi. She graduated from South Houston High School. She married David Yockov in 1967, and together they raised three sons.
She is survived by: (Granddaughters) Chelse Ruhl, Brianna Yockov, and Nicole Yockov. (Great Grandkids) Lucian Grimes and Yemaya Grimes. (Nephews) Jeffrey Todd, Jason Feucht, and Gregory Carrigan. She also leaves to cherish her memory Krishania Honea, Darlene Skinner, Troy Skinner, Derrick Honea, Kimberly Honea, Ray Street, Dakota Street, Morgan Skinner, Troy Skinner Jr, Ricky Honea, Alayna Honea, Saraya Honea, Phoenix Mitcheltree, Memphis Mitcheltree, and Carl Mitcheltree who always welcomed Betty as family and took care of her when she needed it most.
She was preceded in death by: Turner Nelson (father), Elizabeth Skipworth (mother), David Yockov (husband), Kevin Yockov (son), Kevin David Yockov (grandson), Michael Yockov (son), Carolyn Carrigan (sister), Jennifer Feucht (sister), and David Ronald Yockov (son).
Betty had many hobbies and interests; painting, gardening, crocheting, needlework, bowling, riding her motorcycle, playing piano, playing computer games, and bird watching. She enjoyed every moment she had with her family and will be missed very much.
A funeral ceremony is scheduled for Friday March 3, 2023. The family viewing will be at 9 am, public viewing at 10 am, and service at 12 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 2 pm.
