Elouise W. Welch Purdy

Elouise was preceded in death by her husband, E. Victor Purdy, her beloved daughter, Nancy Purdy Durkee, her father, Calvin Parr Welch, her mother, Esther Jane Weisinger Welch, her sister, Lewis Rae Welch Rhodes and her brother, Carroll Welch.

She was survived by her daughters, Esther Lynn Purdy Hightower of Helena, Alabama and Claire Elouise Purdy Arnold of Collierville, Tennessee. Her nine grandchildren; (Esther’s) Lynn Elouise Hightower-Moore (Kevin), Lynda Jane Sexton(Bobby), and Clay Thomas Hightower; (Claire’s) Donna Arnold, Diane Barco (Ted), Debbie Eddlestone (Danny), Richard Arnold, and Allyson Edmonston (Jeff); and (Nancy’s) Robert Victor Lake and her thirteen great grandchildren; (Lynn’s) Kaitlin Lynn Moore and Katherine Anne Moore; (Lynda’s) Brandon Thomas Rosso and Amanda Jane Rosso; (Donna’s) Ashley Fowlkes, Robert Fowlkes (Josefa) and Aimee Folkes Kuykendall (Eric); (Debbie’s) Jourdan Eddlestone Stallings (Matt) and Luke Eddlestone; (Richard’s) Jezebel Arnold and Chloe Arnold; (Allyson’s) Haliegh Bolduc and Bronson Bolduc; and her three great-great grandchildren; (Robert’s) Aylin Fowlkes and Robert Fowlkes and (Aimee’s) George Kuykendall.

Elouise was a member of Houston’s First Baptist Church and a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood (two time past president). She was an auxiliary member of Houston Baptist University.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate this wonderful woman’s life during a visitation at 8:30 AM on Saturday, November 21st in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, where funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM. Graveside services and interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Avenue, Houston, Texas 77023. Reverend Rick Jones, of Houston’s First Baptist Church will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Elouise's name, are requested to a charity of your choice.
