Elsie Jane Townsend, 89, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014. Elsie was a native Houstonian and was an active member of Westbury United Methodist Church. She retired from Control Data Corporation and volunteered the last 15 years at Memorial Hospital Southwest. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jack Townsend. She is survived by her loving daughter, Dr. Karen Townsend Wiggins and son-in-law Kenneth Wiggins; grandson, Townsend Cade Norris and wife Samantha; grandson, Adam Wiggins; brother, Guy W. Head; nephew David Head and wife Christy; niece, Gayle Arnold and husband Gerald; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; many friends and neighbors. A visitation will be held from 7-9pm on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11am on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Westbury United Methodist Church, 5200 Willowbend, Houston, TX 77096. Burial will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
