She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Greater First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Ray Thompson, Sr. where she served on the Usher Board. She was an
active member of the Eastern Star.
Elvester was a lifelong student of law. Her professional career spanned over thirty years including federal government service and employment in the legal field. She spent many hours listening to various music genres including gospel hymnals, jazz, and easy listening. On occasion you would find her amused listening to old recordings of comedians such as Moms Mabley, Flip Wilson, or Redd Foxx. She loved watching old black and white film movies. Her biker family fondly called her “Baby Girl”. You may have seen her on any given day rolling on her motorcycle. She was an avid biker for over the years.
On Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the age of 74, God called Elvester home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Giles and Willie Lee Green.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two siblings, Robert Green, Sr. (Aline Green) and Elizabeth Rutherford; two nephews, Adrian Rutherford and Robert Green, Jr.; three nieces, Yolanda Rutherford,
Nakada Gusman, and Christel Rutherford; two great nieces and six great nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
