Vera is preceded in death by her husband Gregory Garcia; sons, Gregory Jr. and Eddie. She is survived by her son Raymond Garcia; daughters, Mary Ellen Bratton, Martha Abeldano and Gloria Blancas; 12 grandchildren along with numerous great grandchildren. She was a longtime resident of Denver Harbor and a faithful parishioner of Resurrection Church. Along with her late husband Deacon Greg, Vera was very active in her community serving Resurrection Church, the food pantry and Denver Harbor Senior Citizens. The importance of family was always evident in the love and care she showed.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Resurrection Church.
Visitation will begin at 1pm followed by funeral Mass at 2pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Resurrection Church, 915 Zoe St., Houston, Texas 77020.
