Tio Milo,
Maybe not by blood, but you’re my dad’s best friend, so you became a tío to me. 
You watched me and my siblings grow up and made it to our birthday parties my dad would have and witnessed us flee the nest. You were always so kind and gentle and would call me and my sister Mija’s. I remember as a kid visiting with my dad, and y’all would be grilling, and you had a tv outside, and I could play the GameCube and be excited bc it had Mario Party 🎈

In Loving Memory of Emilio Ramos 3rd (Milo)
I lost my friend Emilio Ramos 3rd — everyone called him Milo and it still doesn’t feel real.
I met Milo in the neighborhood when I was just 14. From that day on, he became one of my closest friends. We were kids running the streets together, hanging out with his brothers and Joey, always getting into something. Those were wild, fun times I’ll never forget. Milo was the one who taught me how to drive stick shift — sitting in that old car, stalling and laughing until it finally clicked. That was just who he was: patient, hands-on, and always willing to show you the way.
As we got older, we even got to work together for a little while. I started at the shop first and had to take that mechanical aptitude test. The owner told me I had the highest score he’d ever seen… until Milo walked in. I recommended him, he took the test, and immediately set the new record. I always told him he should’ve been an engineer. He had that kind of mind  sharp, mechanical, and talented.
Even when life pulled us in different directions, we never lost touch. We’d hang out, do steak nights, and just enjoy each other’s company. Later on, Milo even stayed with me as a roommate for a while. Those days turned into more steak nights at the house, filling the place with friends, good food, and even better laughs. Milo was the heart of those gatherings.
He was the best kind of guy — loyal, dependable, and always there when you needed him. No matter what, Milo showed up. That’s the kind of friend you don’t find twice.
Milo, I’m going to miss you more than words can say. I’ll miss our talks, our laughs, the stories we’d retell a hundred times, and the way you made every ordinary day feel like an adventure. Thank you for being my friend, my brother from another mother, and one of the realest people I’ve ever known.
Rest easy, brother. You’ll live on every time I shift gears, fire up the grill for steak night, or tell one of our old stories. Until we meet again
