Emily Beatrice Loveless Roeber, 73, of Houston, passed away on November 17, 2023. She was born Dec 6, 1949 to Herman and Flora Still Loveless, and had one brother Ken Loveless and one sister Mabel Knippa. Emily married Doug Roeber on Sep 8, 1973 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ken Loveless, her brother in law Otto Knippa, her sister Mabel Knippa and grandson Romeo Roeber.
Emily is survived her devoted husband Doug, son Kevin (Maryanne) Roeber and daughter, Rebecca (Dallas) Brackin and the biggest joys of her life, her grandchildren, Taylor Davis, Coalter Davis, Choyce Roeber and Austyn Brackin. Emily is also survived by her sister in law Sharon Loveless, numerous nieces and nephews, along with many cousins in the Still family.
Emily started work for Southwestern Bell when she was 18, and then AT&T before taking time off work while the children were in school. She worked at Emmott Elementary School for many years and was working for Landry’s corporate office when she retired in 2015. It was through these careers where she met a multitude of dear friends along the way. For years they remained close through Bunco nights, Supper Club or lunches and dinners when time allowed.
Emily was very talented at making floral arrangements, and loved to decorate the front door for all seasons and all holiday themes. Christmas was her favorite time of year and decorated inside and out, with her Winter Village as the “Best of All”. The holidays always brought out her Christmas cookies and Texas trash (Chex mix).
Emily loved the Astros and even has her own “brick” at Minute Maid Park. Emily and Doug enjoyed traveling over the years together with their kids, close friends or just themselves over the years. Some of her more recent memorable destinations were her “Hallmark” Christmas in Colorado, day trips to Coushatta, cruising through the Panama Canal, bus trips to Maine and flying across the US to Alaska and Hawaii. Anywhere with her family was her favorite.
Funeral services and internment will be held at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery at 13102 North Frwy.
