

Emma Lee Brunner was born Friday, October 11, 1929, in Monroe,Louisiana to Joseph Sr. and Laura Brunner. Emma was the youngest girl of nine children, raised with her siblings Samuel, Ella Mae, Ruby, Edna Bea, Louis, Joseph Jr, Lonnie, and John.
She was deeply loved by all her brothers and sisters. Emma graduated from Britton Rosenwald High School in Calhoun, Louisiana.Emma later moved to Chicago, Illinois. She married George Butler Jr. in 1956 and had two beautiful baby girls, Pamela Christelle and Deborah Jean. Her daughters were her pride and joy.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Melrose Park where she served as a Sunday school teacher and member of both the Senior Choir and Mothers Board. In 1979,Emma received her License for Practical Nursing from Triton College. She worked for the Chicago Public School System as a School Nurse.In 1999, she moved to Houston, Texas to accompany her children and grandchildren.
She joined Relentless Global Church in 2020, where she served as an honorary Mother of the church.
Emma is survived by her daughters Pamela(Carlton) and Deborah (Jerry); grandchildren AnDrea, Sal(Chavis), Karlton, and Kia; her great grandchildren Mason,Dillon, Kayla, and Hamilton, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins,and dearfriends.Most notably, Emma loved Jesus Christ with her whole heart,body, soul, and mind. You would often hear her in prayer,reciting scriptures, or singing gospel music. One of her mantraswas in reverence to the Lord’s omnipresence, “He sees, He knows, and He cares.”
