Raised in Houston, Emma attended DeZavala Elementary School and Edison Jr. High before joining the workforce in Houston’s vibrant downtown of the 1950s. Always sharing a sense of humor, she enjoyed family and friends laughing along with her. Still wearing stylish makeup and grooming her own hair, Emma received compliments on her beauty throughout her life, being called a Hispanic Elizabeth Taylor when she was younger. Her spirit and faith were just as strong as her beauty.
Emma remained a registered member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Harrisburg since the 1970s and loved to sing praises to God.
Visitation is set for Friday, March 7, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral will be Saturday, March 8, at 10 a.m. Mass, at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment immediately following at Forest Park Cemetery on Lawndale. Honorary pallbearers are sons Rinn Frayne and Richard Gutierrez; grandsons Joshua and Damian Berntsen, Damon Sanchez and Jonathan Alarcon.
