Ernest Salazar Cruz, born December 25, 1947 in Port Arthur, TX, passed away October 6, 2011 in Houston, Texas. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, Helen Salazar and Willie Barron Cruz; and numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived by his son Dustin A. Cruz; sisters, Janie Cano, Angie Gashette, Margaret Quarles, and Rose Mary Cruz. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 9 at Heights Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran Street, Houston, TX 77009 at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2011. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
