Ernest “Ernie” Garza, 79, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in Houston, Texas. He was born on October 10, 1940 in Wharton, Texas to Manuela R. and Pedro L. Garza. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ernest “Ernie” grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from Milby High School in 1959 and he later took over his father’s Sparkle Ice Distribution. On June 20, 1959, he married his sweetheart Virginia De Hoyos Garza at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. Ernest “Ernie” is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years of marriage, Virginia De Hoyos; his sons, Martin Garza and his wife Nora, Ernie Garza and his wife Rhonda; grandchildren, Ashleigh Roessler, Jacob Garza, Joseph Garza and Catherine Garza; his siblings, Rico Garza and his wife Vera, Rumen Garza and his wife Mary, Angelita Arriago and her husband Anthony, Rudy Garza, Gloria Gonzalez and her husband Rodolfo and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 5-9 PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

On behave of cousins from Richmond, Texas, please except Our condolences on the death of your husband and father. Ernest was a cousin to us. Our Tia Pete was my mother’s brother.
