My sympathy to Gene's wife and family. Just meeting Gene in the hallways was enough to smile about. Gene fit in with everyone at S&S. May the Lord watch over you during this difficult time and fill your aching hearts with happy memories of Gene. Thank you for sharing Gene with us! We're all better people for having known him. It was a privilege to have worked with Gene over the last 10 years.  There was never a time that Gene would pass by in the halls without saying something kind to me.  That means so much today especially with the work load that people have but he always took a moment and I appreciated that.  It was evident that he had a happy home life in the way he treated others.  The passing of time will help you forget this troubled time but the memories will always be. I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss Gene a lot.  He was never in too much of a hurry that he couldn't stop and chat for a minute.  It was evident that his family was very important to him.  I also loved his stories about star gazing and watching the meteor showers.  He always told me were to look in the sky for the best viewing.  When I watch the Orionids this weekend I will be thinking of him.  I will miss his soft spoken demeaner and quiet, gentle personality.  I hope you can take comfort in knowing he was special to me and many other S&S employees.
