Eugene Edward Eagan

Eugene Edward Eagan was called to heaven on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Gene, as he was known, was born in Houston, Texas on April 5, 1934, son of Frances and Mamie Eagan. Gene attended Reagan High School in Houston, Texas. In 1957 he joined the Navy where he served as a commissarymen for four years. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Marlys Mae and they were married for 53 years.

Gene retired in 1996 from H.B Fuller Company where he worked as a facility supervisor for over 15 years. He loved spending time with family and friends at his weekend home in Galveston, Texas where he was an avid fisherman who could often be found out on the open waters of West Bay. In his spare time, gene loved to tinker with guns, hunt and paint an occasional picture.

Gene was a loving husband and family man. He is survived by his daughter Rhonda Eagan Coons and son-in-law (Charles), his son Randy Eagan and daughter-in-law (Marcia), grandchildren Megan, Nicholas, Carson and Colby, sister in law Donna, as well as many nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by his wife Marlys, twin sister Eileen and brother Michael.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 6th, at Heights Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 a.m.; funeral services will begin at 11:00. Burial will follow at Black Jack Cemetery in Phelps, Texas.
