

Eugene Plater was born January 16, 1965 in Monroe, Louisiana to the union of Eugene Plater, Sr. and Carrie Lea Johnson. He was the youngest of two children. Eugene acknowledged his call to Christ during his first hospital stay . As a child, he attended Nazarene Baptist Church with his mother. Eugene attended LaMar High School . He had a love for "big trucks". /Eugene spent most of his life driving 18 wheelers at sevberal trucking companies including Clark Motors in Pasadena. Afterwards, Eugene rode with and drove for his father, the late Eugene Plater, Sr. on their out-of-state trips. Eugene started working again at Shipley's Trucking Company ending his career @ Gulf Wind Trucking /Company during the onset of his illness. Eugene was preceded in death by his father Eugene Plater, Sr.; his sister, Michelle Galloway; grandparents Harrison Johnson, Sr. and Annie Mae Matthews. Eugene leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted mom, Carrie Lea Plater; one brother, Tommy Lee Johnson; one son, Eugene Andrew Plater, III; Aunts Cora Whitley(/Amos) and Norma Carter(Uncle TJ) both of Tacoma, Washington along with Aunt Marguerite Johnson of Jonesville, Louisiana; one uncle, Harrison Johnson, Jr. (Emma) of Galveston, a host of cousins, friends and other family members.
