Eunice “Louise” (Allen) Holliday was born on March 27, 1920 in Winnfield, Louisiana in a small house next door to their church. She was the second of 3 children born to Doshia and Vincent Allen. Her childhood took place during the great depression and the effects of that time. She had a loving and happy childhood with her mother and siblings. After graduating high school, she set out to complete nurse’s training at Shreveport Charity Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1943. A little over one year later she later accepted a commission in the U. S. Army. She served during World War II as a Second Lieutenant. After honorably serving, Louise later married Warren G. Holliday who precedes her in death and established a permanent residency in Houston, Texas. Over a year later they happily welcomed their only son, Ben, into the world. Louise spent her professional years as a register nurse serving her country in the U. S. Army and performed duties at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Houston, Texas for 21 years. She was an extremely devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She is survived by her son, Ben and his wife Diana, Priscilla, Matthew, Shelley, and Christopher (grandchildren), Amy, Jennifer, Sarah, Martin, Hallie, Peter, and Hannah (great grandchildren) , Mary and Elizabeth (great-great grandchildren). She is most remembered by her loved ones for her kindness and patience. Louise graced and enriched our lives with her loving nature and dedication to her family. She will always be a part of us and the lives we lead. She passed peaceful on March 8, 2014 with her son and two youngest grandchildren by her side. Visitation services will be held on March 10, 2014 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and chapel services will be held the following day at 2 pm.
