

Jan. 20, 1923 in Haynesville, Louisiana. Sidney served in Europe as a First
Lieutenant during the Second World War. He attended College at LSU, Vanderbilt
Law School, and SMU. He was a member of the Texas State Bar Association, the
American Bar Association, and practiced civil trial law in Texas from 1949 to
2011.
Evalyn Louise Freeman Farr died June 22, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Farr was
born July 23, 1925, in Bells, Tennessee. She attended Stephens College and LSU
where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Mrs. Farr was a long time member
of the Houston Tuesday Musical Club and the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church
choir.
Sidney and Evalyn were married for 65 years. They are survived by their
children Nancy Ann Farr, Molly Lou Farr, Mary Kate Farr Floyd and her husband
David Floyd, and William Lavelle Farr and his wife Limei Tong Farr; three
grandchildren, Hudson Harrington Berry, Eva Geneva Berry, and Sarah Evalyn Bell
and her husband, Jason Bell; step grandson, Xiaobo Wang.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11:00 am., in the
sanctuary of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer, Houston, Texas
77027. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the St.
Luke’s Foundation Fund.
