

Evelyn was born on October 20, 1956, the last child of three of the union of Jimmy Lee Brown (precedes her in death) and Lucy Henry-Brown later remarried Joseph Pryor both precedes her in death. Her sister Gladys June Brown and brother Larry Joe Brown both precedes her in death. Evelyn spent her early childhood years in 4th Ward with her mother Lucy where she attended grade school. Later they moved to South Park and her mother remarried, Joseph Pryor. She attended Hartman Middle School and Jones High School. Evelyn went on to obtain her GED while pregnant with her first child, Sharion L. Brown. Four years later Evelyn became pregnant with twins, Christian Dwayne Brown (precedes her in death) and Christopher Michael Brown Sr. Evelyn went on to raise her children as a single parent. Evelyn was trusted by many of her friends to take care of their children while they worked. She received many recommendations and continued on to provide her services to others. She gained many close relationships with her clients. Evelyn was engaged to Elroy Garrett (precedes her in death) and never decided to attempt marriage again after his death. Evelyn dedicated her life to her children, Sharion (Christopher Johnson) and Christopher (Natalie Hernandez-Brown) and her four grandchildren, "The Bratpack:" Christian Dwayne Brown II (16), Kayla Krishele Brown (12), Chrishon Dominique Johnson (11), and Christopher Michael Brown Jr. (11). God-daughters Tasha Davis-Middleton, Valerie Tippins-Mazquie, Brittany Ross, God-sons Michael Davis and Sean Griffin and God-Grandsons Christopher and Jamal Dawkins God-grand-daughter Keterria Peters. She loved them dearly; they were her pride and joy. Evelyn became ill as of March 2013; she continued the fight for two months and regained consciousness. Her battle continued after she was released from the hospital but she always found a way to smile and enjoy her loved ones, until God decided to call her home on April 21, 2014. Evelyn's spirit and kindness gained her friends and extended family members. She was a well loved person by many. Everyone will remember her smile and her own special way of encouraging her loved ones. Evelyn leaves behind a host for family and friends and many other special people that graced her presence. Her legacy will live on through all that loved her.
