

Evelyn was born on February 28, 1942, in Pearland, TX. Her parents were Walter and Minnie Herbrich Mitschke. She attended Bethlehem Lutheran School, Houston and graduated from Lutheran High School, Houston in 1960. Evelyn spent her entire career in banking with Texas Commerce Bank, now Chase Bank.
On April 30, 1977 Evelyn became the bride of Charles Marsh. They remained happily married until his passing in 1999.
Evelyn was very active in her church, first at Bethlehem Lutheran, where she was baptized, confirmed and married, then later at Immanuel Lutheran. She served as financial secretary as well as Sunday School secretary and was very active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, attending many rallies, District Conventions, as well as some National Conventions. Evelyn facilitated “Hamburger Day” for many years. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family and her many activities at church. She always had a smile for everyone.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Charles Marsh on September 9, 1999.She is survived by her sister Thelma Deterling and husband Werner, brother EdMitschke and wife Susan, Nephew Mark Deterling and wife Missy, Nieces Gail Cyphersand husband Dusty, Joyce Carpenter andhusbandAaron,Step Nephews Tom Earle and wife Diane, Dan Earle and wife Mandy, and four great nieces, six great nephews, and four great-grand nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 1440 Cortlandt Street in Houston at 2PM Saturday, February 10, 2024. Visitation will be held immediately prior to the service at 1PM.
