Born January 30, 1989 to Everardo V. “Evie” and Sara Morones Estrada in Houston, Texas. Evie Estrada Jr. met our Heavenly Father May 9, 2014 at the age of 25. Evie attended St. Ambrose School and graduated in May 2003. He then attended St. Pius High School and graduated May 2007. After receiving his high school diploma he then attended Houston Community College. In July 2008 he shared with his parents and his sister Victoria that he wanted to patriotically serve his country. In 2008 Evie joined the U.S. Marines. While in boot camp he became the prayer leader of his group. Within nine months, Evie was deployed to Haiti for Operation Unified Response. After Haiti, he was attached to Operation Enduring Freedom. Evie was a combat engineer serving with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. He traveled to Djibouti, Africa on a humanitarian assistance mission along with anti-piracy operations. He went to Jordan and Kuwait to train with the Iraqi civilian contractors for their upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. While serving he was the spiritual motivator and lifted his fellow brothers to keep their faith. While deployed; Evie completed two degrees with honors: a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology. Evie proudly served our country until March of 2012 and then returned to reunite with his family. In November of 2012 he married Sarah Stroman Estrada. He had three beautiful children, Kaiden Drabek Estrada 6, Hunter Stroman Estrada 2, and Veronica Lynn Estrada 1. He began his educational career as a teacher and coach at St. Ambrose Catholic School. Evie was currently a 6th—8th Grade English/Language Arts teacher at St. Augustine Catholic School where he was known as “Coach Evie”. He coached 5th-8th grade volleyball and baseball. Evie’s coaching career satisfaction and pride was attributed by his athlete’s, and the growth that he would see in his team. Evie was very excited and honored that he would be the 2014-2015 St. Augustine Catholic School’s Vice Principal. Evie’s coaching events at St. Ambrose included football, basketball, baseball and cheer coach. At St. Augustine Catholic School he coached volleyball and baseball. During the summer Evie was the Director of a Kidventure Camp. He also coached T-ball for his son Kaiden’s team. His first class will proudly graduate in May 2014. His dedication to teaching was reinforced by his love for his students and dedication to his Catholic faith. Evie was also a student at the University of St. Thomas, working towards his masters degree in educational leadership to obtain a principal’s certification and ultimately earn a superintendent certificate. He had future plans to pursue his doctorate degree. Evie is survived by his wife: Sarah Stroman Estrada, Children: Kaiden, Hunter and Veronica Estrada, his Parents: Everardo Estrada, Sr. and Sara Morones Estrada, Brother-in-Law and Sister: Zethen and Victoria Parker, Nephews: Zakai and Zanden Parker, Maternal Grandmother: Eva H. Morones, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Strong faith has always been Evie’s foundation. Evie loved Crossfit, ran everyday, had a deep passion for sports which included team roping, dancing, music and hunting. Evie loved to read biographies. His favorite sports were football, basketball, baseball, team roping and Texas competitive cheer. Evie had strong working ethics, always helping his neighbors, community and a passion to touch people’s lives. Evie’s most enjoyable pastimes were with his children and family and cherished his fun times with his family at Garner State Park, Puerta Vallarta and Oaks Dads Club. Evie loved going to his parent’s home town in Carrizo Springs and Asherton, Texas in Dimmit County (Wildcat & Trojan Country). His infectious laugh and big smile brought joy to anyone and everyone he met. Evie accomplished much in life, but his greatest achievement was being a father to his three beautiful children. He will be deeply missed by many.
