Fay Elizabeth Whitfield passed away on August 9, 2010 at the age of 100 in Houston, Texas. She was born on April 26, 1910 in Groveton, Texas, to J. R. Springfield and Mary Adela Springfield. Fay graduated from Groveton High School, and was a life member of Groveton X-Student association. She was a member of the United Methodist Church Disciple Class and church circle. She retired from Foley’s after 53 years. She was a member of Foley’s Executive Club and past secretary and past president of Foley’s 20 year club. Fay was preceded in death by husband, J. H. Whitfield; and sons, Weyman W. Whitfield and J. H. Whitfield, Jr. Fay is survived by her ex-daughter-in-law, Myra Whitfield Ward of Evergreen, CO; various cousins and beloved best friend for over 60 years, Lois Mason. Visitation will be Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Heights Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
