Florence Elizabeth Harris was born on February 21, 1915 in Jefferson, Texas. Preceding her in death were her beloved parents. She is survived by her son, Reverend Adolph Whitfield. Although she gave birth to one, she loved, mothered, and supported many. She moved to Houston, Texas and was an active member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church and New Promise Land Baptist Church until she was unable to attend. She was self-employed for many years and was also employed as a domestic worker. She was a hard worker in her church and her community. Her greatest work was in the youth department of her church. Mrs. Harris was a very caring and giving person who will be sorely missed by many. She passed away quietly in her sleep on Sunday, July 14, 2013.
