Frances Catherine Groll

Frances Catherine Groll, née Wilson, 93, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday night, January 15, 2026, at Prince's Palace, a private memory care facility in Tomball, Texas, where she resided since October, 2024, when living alone became a safety concern. She was born December 13, 1932, in Houston, Texas, the youngest of 8 children of her late parents, Charles Wilson and Mary Ann Wilson, née Marbach.

She was married for 48 years to Raymond Albert Groll, Sr., of Schroeder, Texas, who preceded her in death on March 5, 1998. Her only son, Raymond (Ray) Albert Groll, Jr., of Cypress, Texas, preceded her in death on November 9, 2019. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Her family was her universe. She was a dedicated grandmother and great-grandmother, who was happiest talking to or about her 5 grandchildren, their families, and her 6 great grandchildren.

She was a self-employed talented seamstress, possessing outstanding skills. She enjoyed crocheting, loved working in her yard, particularly babying her azaleas, and found great pleasure in preparing her much-desired macaroni and cheese for holiday dinners to satisfy family demands.

She is survived by: Debbie Redding, daughter, and husband Perry of Spring; Brenda Groll, daughter-in-law of Cypress; Grandchildren - Delaina Lewis and husband Eric of Spring; Christopher Mendel and Patrick Jez of Houston; Tamara Groll-Boegler of Alvin; Amber Baynes and husband Brad of Cypress; Jason Groll and wife Morgan of Cypress; Great Grandchildren - Madison Pitman and husband Dalton of Spring; Brett Groll of Cypress; Hannah Boegler of Alvin; Lillian Baynes of Cypress; Ella Groll of Cypress; Zachary Groll of Cypress; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A private service for immediate family will be held at the Heights Funeral Home. She will be interred at the Woodlawn Garden of Memories Cemetery, Houston. Texas.
