Frances Gum was loved very, very much. She was our Mother and always will be. On Wednesday, January 25, 2017, after 90 years here, she decided it was time to go to heaven. Our parents were married for 69 years. When our Father left us to go to heaven 2 years ago, we know she missed him very much.
Our Father was outgoing and friendly. Our Mother was quiet and reserved with a determination and a will of great strength. She was the backbone of our family. She spent most of her life as homemaker for us. There was not a birthday or a holiday that was missed. She was serious most of the time. Nothing got past her.
Mother said thank you for every kindness she received. She had been a member of St. Matthew's Methodist Church until she became our Father's caregiver the last years of his life. She loved going to church. Mother had a strong belief in God and that He had a plan for each of us.
For a small woman, our Mother had a heart bigger than anything. We will always remember her smile though; that beautiful smile of our Mother who loved us with all her heart. She left us as she lived, with quietness, dignity, and a smile on her face. We will love you forever.
Love, Bev and Larry
