

Frances L. Helmer 77, left this earth on her birthday July 1, 2013 . She was born in Houston, Texas on July, 1, 1936 and passed away peacefully with her loving family around her as she departed into the arms of her Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her Mother May Bel Prichard, her Father Rufus Prichard and her Brother Malcom (Mac) Prichard. Frances, otherwise known as Lodie to her husband, Momma to her children, Meme to her grandchildren, and Fran to her closest friends, was the most devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest joys were spending time with her friends and family. With an unselfish heart, she was always eager to help those in need never expecting anything in return. Throughout her life, she had an unwavering faith in God and her family and maintained a loving demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Frances' ability to talk to someone and put them at ease in any situation is yet another trait that she can be remembered by. She leaves behind many to cherish her loving memory; her husband of 60 years George, her daughter Terri Karr and husband Ron Karr, her son Steve Helmer and his wife Marianne, also three granddaughters, Roxanne Rasberry (Daniel Stone), Michelle Soto (Jacob Soto), Taylor Helmer as well as a great granddaughter, Reagan Stone, a great grandson Slade McBride and one brother Harold Prichard. Frances leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, life long friends, along with members of "The Golden Girls" who convened every Thursday. Please join in the Celebration of Frances' Life at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Ave, Houston, Tx 77023. Viewing will be Monday July 8, 2013 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm with Funeral Services also being held at Forest Park Lawndale Tuesday July 9, 2013 at 10:30am inside the Chapel of the Angels. Immediately following funeral service at Forest Park, Interment/graveside services will be at Woodlawn Cemetery 8010 Katy Freeway, Houston,Tx.
