

Frances Ann Hanel Marek, 87, passed away December 8, 2014 in Houston, Texas. Frances was a lady with many talents. She loved to cook, sew, stamping, play Dominoes and Bridge, reading as well as being a crack shot while hunting deer and turkey and enjoying quiet times fishing. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Frances was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Marek and brothers Gregory Hanel and Norbert Hanel. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Hanel Inderbitzen & husband Rudy, Martha Hanel Davis, Sister Mary Magdalen Hanel, O.P. and Janice Hanel Poinsett & husband Jim; children, Alice Hobizal & husband Robert, Bruce Marek & wife Jan, John A. Marek & wife Debbie, Paul Marek & wife Kathy, Catherine Masden & husband Bryan and Carol Marek; grandchildren, Eddy Hobizal & wife Kristen, David Hobizal & wife Sarah, Jonathan Marek, Melissa Berlin & husband Ross, Ann Marek, Rachel Wolf & husband Isaac, Joshua Marek & wife Lacey, Amy Locke & husband Andrew, Joel Marek, Clint Masden and Cody Masden; and 9 great-grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2730 Nelwood, Houston, TX 77038. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are Jon Marek, Josh Marek, Joel Marek, Clint Masden, Cody Masden, Eddy Hobizal and David Hobizal. In lieu of flowers, please give to:
