Francine Myrtis Lamberth Nelson went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2023, at the age of ninety (90) years. As a native Texan, she was born on March 16, 1933, to Jefferson Myrtis Lamberth and Lora Cooper Lamberth, and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Nelson, her sister, Lillian Gentry, her brother, David Randall Lamberth, brother-in-law, John Gentry, and sister-in-law, Sheron Lamberth.
She is survived by her sister, Lita Pearl Lamberth Guinn (Bartley), her niece, Marilyn Guinn Skaf (Rashid), her nephews, Steven Gentry, Craig Gentry (Katie), Jeff Lamberth (Paula), Ross Lamberth, and Wade Guinn (Sarah). Her grandniece, Sydney Lamberth, and grandnephews, Christian Skaf, Luke Lamberth and Jedadiah Gentry.
Francine was a member of April Sound Church. She enjoyed studying the Bible, expounding upon her faith, and watching church on TV when she could not attend the service in person.
She was an avid golfer (with Bill and family), and her favorite golf outing and the one that she looked forward to playing in every year, was the April Sound Church tournament. She loved pulling the slots at casinos, modeling resort wear at the country club, and riding her moped through April Sound.
Francine and Bill traveled all over the world, including London, Hawaii, Bahamas, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The family wishes to express their sincere love and gratitude to her amazing caregivers, Becky and Emily, for spoiling Francine with their love, devotion and dedication the past couple of years.
Her infectious smile and the nicknames for her niece and nephews will be sorely missed, in particular, “monsters”.
She was extremely proud of her family’s accomplishments and was always the first to call with congratulations. She is now in Heaven with our “Uncle Bill”, all of her loved ones, and most important, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to April Sound Church, 67½ April Wind Drive South, Montgomery, Texas 77356.
The graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 12:30 p.m., at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. On behalf of our entire family, we sincerely appreciate everyone that came to know Francine, her smile, her laughter, and her friendliness. She loved life and all people. We all know that she is our newest guardian angel and will be watching over and protecting us until we meet again in Heaven.
