Francisco P. Orta

Francisco Paredes Orta, 81, of Houston, Tx, passed away on April 10, 2014 at his home. After a long battle with lung cancer. Born July 7. 1932, in Tampico, Tamps. Mexico, he was the son of the late Francisco Orta Gamez and Cristina (Pina) Orta. Francisco was a retiree from Seafares International Union where he worked as a merchant seaman for over 28 years. He traveled the world as he worked in the deck department on many vessels. He enjoyed reading, music, crossword puzzles, and watching baseball and soccer games on television. Francisco is survived by his wife, Blanca L. Orta, his daughter Blanca A. Kuberski her husband Terry Kuberski of Dubios Illinios, his grandchildren, Cynthia Soto of Houston, Tx, Jordan F. Kuberski and his wife Julissa Kuberski of San Clemente, CA, Jonathan F. Kuberski of Camp Lejuene, NC, Rudy A. Orta and his wife Ana Karen Orta of Houston, Tx, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, his siblings, Coleta Gomez of Tampico, Tamps Mexico, Ana Guerrero and her husband Raul Guerrero of Houston, Tx, Raquel Patino of Houston, Tx, Fernando Orta of Houston, Tx; and many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives. Francisco was preceded in death by his sons Francisco L. Orta on September 23, 1988 and Rudy L. Orta on March 16, 2005 and Granddaughter Olga Orta on March 2, 2004. Memorial Services for Francisco Orta will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on 6900 Lawndale Ave, Houston, TX 77023. Burial will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston. Friends may visit with the family Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 pm. A Rosary will be held On Monday at 7:00pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Jordan, Jonathan, Genaro, Juan, Miguel, and Esteban.
