

Frank W. Piper, Jr., passed away peacefully and joined his Father in Heaven on October 22, 2021. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Frank W. Piper, Sr. and Lillian Scaccia Piper and attended schools in that city. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a BBA, where he was president of Delta Sigma Pi (Professional Fraternity) and president of the Marketing Clubs. After graduating, Frank was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S.A.F. at which time he met and married Trudy Short who blessed him with three children. After leaving the Air Force he returned to New Orleans where he joined the salesforce of Black & Decker Mfg. Co. and was transferred to Houston, Texas. Among his many achievements in sales, Frank was elected to the president of the Houston Housewares Association and later the Houston Hardware Association. He was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church where he was a lector.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Trudy Short Piper and son, Stephen Raymond Piper. He is survived by his wife, Merryl Tanner Piper; daughter, Kimberley Ann Hartensteiner; son, Frank W. Piper, III and his wife, Wanda. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family was held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, where the Rosary was recited at 5:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 10688 Shadow Wood, with Reverend Niall J. Nolan, celebrant. The Rite of Committal and military honors, followed at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
