

Frankie Tannie Gusemano, age 86, beloved father and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013. He was born to Tannie and Effie Gusemano on April 18, 1927, in Houston, Texas. He graduated in 1945 from John H. Reagan High School where he excelled in football, and followed that with service to his country in the United States Navy. He was an amateur boxer in his youth, a restaurant owner/manager for many years, a building contractor, property owner/manager, master carpenter, and lifelong avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Verla Gusemano, and his parents. He is survived by his daughter Toni King and son-in-law Mike; his son, Tannie Gusemano and daughter-in-law Suzanne; granddaughters, Kalie Sanders and husband David, Franki Gusemano, and Grace King; dear friend, DoDee Touchton; brother-in-law, Jerrell Breland and wife Pat; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He cherished and protected his family and will always be our hero. His sincerity, courage, and genuine sense of humor are among his lasting gifts to us. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 2, 2013 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman, Houston, Texas 77018, followed by a reception in the parish hall. Rite of Committal will then follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman, Houston, Texas 77018.
