

George Pierce Skinner, Jr., born September 12, 1930 to G. Pierce and Virgie Skinner in Houston, Texas, went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2012 in Houston. Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, LaNelle Skinner; son, Rick Paul Skinner and wife, Susan; daughters, Rebecca Lynne Stevenson and husband, Gregg, Dianne Leigh Ussery, and Paige Glass and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Jeremiah Skinner and wife, Sandy, Geoff Stevenson, Terry Stevenson, Stacie Shaw and husband, Anthony, Lindsie Roach, and Lauren, Jessica, Melody, Joshua, and Caleb Glass; great-granddaughters, RandiLeigh Stripling and Khyla and Arianna Shaw; brother, Rev. Billy Wayne Skinner (retired) and wife, Eva; sister, Geraldine Leaton, and by other extended family and many friends.
Mr. Skinner served his country proudly during the Korean War, running the engine room aboard the USS Ajax AR for four years. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, and a longtime, faithful member of Houston’s First Baptist Church. Mr. Skinner was a man who was not just one engineer, he had so many areas of responsibility in his job that he operated as six kinds of engineer. He had several Spiritual Gifts and used them wonderfully. Mr. Skinner had so many hobbies and interests his life would fill several books. He will be greatly missed.
