Garrett Washington, 83, of Plano, TX, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026. Born August 21st, 1942, in Houston, TX, he was the son of the late George Aubrey and Charlie Virgina (Martin) Washington. Garrett enjoyed traveling, playing pool, poker, softball, running 5k races, and dealing in antiques and collectables.
He served 6 years in the Army Reserves and worked at Centerpoint Energy for 41 years. Surviving are his son, Richard Washington of Plano, TX, sister-in-law Barbara Washington of Sunset, SC, a niece, Karen Sillay of Alpharetta, GA and two nephews, Keith Washington of Alpharetta, GA and Kirk Washington of Cumming, GA. Garrett is predeceased by one sister, Evelyn Martin Sanders, and 2 brothers, Lester Wayne Washington and Jackie Lee Washington.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children (donate.shrinerschildrens.org).
