

Georgia Westbrook Wade was born in Elmina, Texas on September 1, 1930 to loving parents Charlie Westbrook and Lizzie Turner. She was one of seven siblings. She grew up in the Dolan/Rayburn area east of Cleveland, Texas until around the age of 15, when she moved to Kendleton, Texas to attend boarding school. She then went on to Business College, where she became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. After obtaining her LVN, she worked for HISD and then moved on to work at The Heights Hospital, until she eventually retired. On June 18, 1950, Georgia married John T. Wade. To this union three children were born: Bruce, Blair, and Nadja.
Georgia accepted Christ as the author and head of her life and was very active in church and in her community. She has been a faithful member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church for over 70 years and was a devoted and dedicated member of the choir. In her leisure time, she loved cooking and being involved in various church and school activities. Helping others is what she loved to do most.
Georgia is preceded in death by her husband, John T. Wade; parents, Charlie and Lizzie Westbrook; and siblings, Horace, Nellie, Wallace, Lizzie B., J.W., and Odessa. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Bruce S. Wade (Arma) and Blair J. Wade; daughter, Nadja Wade-Terry (Arthur); grandkids, Demetrius Wade, Jenerro Wade, and Jean Wade; great-grands, Sebastian Wade, Cornelius Wade, and Joey Hardee; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
