Gerald Rex Owens

Gerald Rex Owens, a beloved, brave, and cherished individual, passed away on January 28, 2026, at the age of 96. Born to Mancel Pierce Owens and Wylie Bess Owens in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, on September 6, 1929, Gerald moved with his family to Tomball, Texas, at the age of 14 and graduated from high school in 1948.

Gerald proudly served in the U.S. Navy from September 30, 1948, to September 5, 1952. Following his service, he worked as a union plumber with Local 68 for over 50 years, demonstrating his hard-working and resilient nature.

On July 20, 1962, Gerald married Deanna Owens, with whom he shared a loving family. He was a devoted father to three children: daughters Jerri Sealy, married to Gordon Sealy, and Lia Wagner, and son Cody Owens, married to Leslie Owens. He was also a proud grandfather to Taylor, Caden, Cannon, and Corleigh, and a great-grandfather to Hudsyn.

Gerald had a passion for watching his children and grandchildren play softball and baseball, and he loved working on and driving hot rod vehicles. Known for his humorous and prankster spirit, Gerald was a great friend to everyone, kind-hearted, and loved by all.

Visitation will be held at Earthman Resthaven, located at 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, on February 1, 2026, from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on February 2, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the committal service from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home & Cemetery.
