Geraldine King, a beacon of grace and love, passed away peacefully in Seabrook, Texas, on August 17, 2025, at the age of 85. Born in Palestine, Texas, February 4, 1940, on a farm in the community of Days Chapel, to JT Moore and Donnie Marie Moore. Geraldine was a woman who embodied the true essence of beauty, class, and professionalism.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her father, JT Moore; her mother, Donnie Marie Moore; and her loving husband, George King. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Moore; her chosen sisters Frankie Sanders, Mona Heinze, her daughters, Paula Smith, Rhonda Fish and chosen daughter Crystal Hanlon; Stepsons, Barry King and Darryl King; The Shannon Family; and her beloved grandchildren, Jake, Melissa, Krystal, Georgia, Katy, Danny, Nicole, Cody, Jordan, and Jayden. She was also blessed with several great-grandchildren who brought additional joy to her life.
Educated at Milby High School, Geraldine's work ethic was evident in her long and dedicated career. She worked at Memorial Baptist Hospital in the pathology dept., Foleys department store downtown Houston, Ludtke Methodist Church, and Dupont Local Union for over 45 years, showing great dedication by working until the age of 85. Her professional accomplishments were a testament to her resilience and dedication, but her greatest accomplishment was the love and unity she fostered within her family and friends, always putting them first.
Geraldine was a woman of faith, serving her church with commitment and love. Her passions extended beyond her professional life; she was an avid traveler with her husband George, a loving family woman, a best friend and companion to many, a shopping enthusiast, and a cooking connoisseur. Her hobbies and interests were as diverse and vibrant as her personality.
Funeral services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale, where family and close friends can gather graveside to remember and celebrate Geraldine's remarkable life. Her spirit, grace, and love for life will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests that donations be made to Stand Up to Cancer or MD Anderson, organizations that were close to Geraldine's heart.
Though we mourn the loss of Geraldine King, we also celebrate a life that was filled with love, service, and dedication. Her legacy will forever be etched in the hearts and minds of all who knew her. May her soul rest in peace and continue dancing in Heaven.
