Gertrude A. Paradowski

Gertrude went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2025. She lived a full life and was a blessing to all who met her. Her life has always been about family. Her great-grandchildren were the reason she was still here at 101. She is preceded in death by her parents, Kostancya and Anton Kaminski, her husband of 52 years Zigmont Paradowski; daughter-in-law, Carrie Paradowski and grandson-in-law, Rene Medeguari. Brothers Chester, Alois, Marion, Edmond, Willie, and Stanley Kaminski. Sisters, Mary Bartniski, Helen Nowak and Natalie Bednarek. She is survived by her sister, Pearlie Nelson, sons James and Mark and wife, Karen along with her daughter Dianne and husband, Jimmy Hicks. Grandchildren Dana Dixon Medeguari, Kristina Lange, AJ Paradowski and wife, Alessandra, Sarah, Christopher and Allyson Paradowski. Great-grandchildren Nicolas and Alejandro (Alex) Medeguari, Elais, Harrison and Theodora Lange.

In her 20s, Gertrude moved from Chappell Hill, Texas to Houston. She moved in with her sister, Mary Bartniski in the Heights. She met her future husband at her sister’s house. She married Zigmont they lived in the Heights until 1992 until moving to Oak Forest. She was a proud Polish National Alliance member along with being a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

The family will always be grateful for the care Kathy Baird gave to our Mother/Nana. We also are grateful for Eva Podraza for being her Eucharistic Minister. Mother loved you both very much

A visitation for Gertrude will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd, Houston, TX 77008. A rosary service will occur Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, 1317 Heights Blvd, Houston, TX 77008. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Rd, Houston, TX 77092. A reception will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Rd, Houston, TX 77092. A committal service will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
