Sorry to miss the funeral— breaks my heart! What a good man and as a teenager! He was a good athlete— we spent many years playing softball and basketball together and we won very often!
Several memories, but when we had a game, I always wanted to drive— Moose... ran out of gas now an then! Haven’t seen him in years, except for funerals and that was just a hello!
I will love him until my last breath!
Rest In Peace my friend!

Maurice lived his life as a living testimony for His Savior. A truly good Christian man who quietly went about his daily life doing good. He has been such a positive influence in so many lives. It was truly a blessing knowing him. He will be missed. Dottie, God bless you and your family. Our thoughts and love are with you.

The main aspect of Maurice I remember is that wonderful smile and his gentle, kind nature. There was always a twinkle in his eyes. I know he had many friends, but surely the trio of Maurice, Hershell, and Raiford was a special bond. Sending my love, care, and concern to Dotty and the rest of the family. Anna Louise Bruner

Maurice, was truly a great man, he befriended a young man just returning from Vietnam and being discharged from the Marine Corps back in 1972. I had just started dating a young girl Kandy Lee Rose and she invited me to church at Glen Rose Baptist Church. Her mom Mattie would feed you if you went to church with the family. Maurice worked in the engineering and drafting field which was the field I was going to school for. He helped me get a job in that field which I stayed in for over 43 years. He also was very instrumental in leading me to my relationships with the Lord. Maurice was put in my life for a reason and I am so very glad he was.
